Cllr Gillian Brockley

Flintshire County Councillor for Hawarden & Aston

On the 5th May 2022, I was elected as one of your two County Councillors for the Hawarden & Aston ward. I made clear in the election that I would only take instructions from the residents of Hawarden & Aston.

With my colleagues in Flintshire People's Voice, I have led the campaign against the Council's reckless Local Development Plan and the Ash Lane development, and have fought continued hikes in your Council Tax bills.

For too long in Flintshire, our services have been cut whilst Council Tax bills have been increased. The Council's political leadership is devoid of ideas, and ambition. Whilst they flounder, Flintshire People's Voice is leading the charge for a better Flintshire.

FPV have already brought about a 'rogue landlord' system which protects tenants and responsible landlords, overhauled the Council's licensing processes to put residents at the heart of decision-making, and fought for, and won, expanded disabled access to household recycling centres. We led the campaign against the Council's plan to shut down Aura Leisure and Libraries, and we've fought against reduced bin collections.

We believe Flintshire residents deserve better than cuts to services and hikes to Council Tax. If you'd like to find out more about what Flintshire People's Voice stands for, see our manifesto, by clicking here.

Flintshire People’s Voice - Your Voice

Flintshire People’s Voice was formed in response to the Labour administration’s complete inability to uphold standards in public life, combined with their unwillingness to take the action needed to make Flintshire better. Flintshire deserves better than managed decline.

Fundamentally, we believe in a brighter future for Flintshire, and we believe that a brighter future is achievable, and achievable without resorting to repeated Council Tax hikes. We stand for better services, and lower Council Tax.

Flintshire People’s Voice believes in high standards, accountability, and transparency in public life. That means always acting how residents would want and expect us to – even when this comes at a personal cost.
